We're not supposed to have a favorite kind of cat here at the I Can Has Cheezburger offices…. but we do. We love all cats, but we love black cats the most. They are so sleek and shiny, and they are about as cuddly as you can get from a cat. In fact, our black cat literally won't leave us alone. They must be touching us at all times when we are home, and though some people may find it annoying, we think it's purrfectly sweet. 

Not only are they super cuddly, but black cats probably can compete with orange cats for silliest purrsonalities. Oranges definitely take the gold medal when it comes to cat craziness, but black cats are a close second. They make the funniest faces and we often catch them in the derpiest shenanigans! In the cattosphere, here on the internet, we have a specific term to describe pairs of cats that simply cannot be separated. We call them bonded pairs. Because that is what they are. They may be siblings from the same litter or simply two cats that have bonded strongly throughout their lives. Cat owners know this, internet cat aficionados know this, shelters know this. That's why a lot of shelters refuse to separate bonded pairs. 

Now, if a bonded pair does get separated, for whatever reason, it is part of your duty to bring them back together. Because without one another, they are not the same, they are not as happy, they will never feel quite complete. We know what it's like to lose someone. Let's not let our cats feel the same way if they don't have to. Make the effort, like the person in this story did, and we promise that, just like in this story, the payoff will be so, so worth it.

Many Caturdays have come and gone since they came into existence around 10,000 years ago. Cats, quite literally, domesticated themselves just by showing up near early hoomans and never left. This whiskered wanderer started as a skittish visitor, hissing from afar and vanishing for weeks at a time. But over the past couple of months, she's gone from cautious guest to full-time purrsistor. We cat pawrents need to be honest with ourselves - cats are adorable little agents of chaos. They knock over breakables just to assert dominance. They shred the couch like it owes them money. You know those at-home office meetings… the ones during which you don't have to turn on your camera or your mic, you know- the ones that feel completely unnecessary? Could have been an email instead? Yeah, those ones. You know what makes them better? Having cats. Cats somehow sense when you are in a meeting, and for some reason, cats want to be part of your Zoom meetings. We don't know why, but we don't argue. If this is what makes our cats cuddle with us, then we have no problem.

There is only one risk when it comes to this. Letting your cat distract you during a meeting means that… you sometimes, might forget that you're on camera or that your mic is on. You just don't think about it. Because you're not listening. You're just looking at your cat. And well, this person learned the consequences of that quite fast and quite hard. We've been there, friend, just not quite this badly.
